About the artwork
A moody artwork of mountains and palm tree reflected in a swimming pool at cocktail hour. Evoking the glamour of Hollywood and evenings relaxing after a lovely day sunning by the pool, or a well deserved rest after energetic activities exploring an exciting new place.
Combining modern day digital tools and photography as well as the alternative photographic Cyanotype process created in 1842 and used by botanists to record life.
A chemical is painted by the artist hand onto thick 300gsm Saunders Waterford paper. Each application is unique leaving its own variations in brush stroke. The sun then works its magic. The paper is washed with pure water leaving a completely unique record of the image.The controlled but random marks of its creation are dependent on the marks of the brush, the acidity or alkelinity of the water, the vagaries of weather and position of the sun. And time.
